About the Quicktionary2 Kanji Reader Pen

 Kanji Reader is a new handheld electronic dictionary (denshi-jisho) from WizCom Technologies Ltd. and Japan21 Inc. Ergonomically designed for both left- and right-handed users, it features:

• A very small, high-precision optical image scanner to capture printed text

• Optical character recognition (OCR) software capable of digitizing kanji and other Japanese characters - supports vertically written Japanese, as well as horizontal text
  
• A custom lexical database (based on Sanseido's well-accepted Daily Concise dictionaries) with a built-in micro search engine
• A bilingual user interface to switch between Japanese and English menus
