Japan21 assists foreign technology vendors to effectively explore their business opportunities in Japan by providing a range of Business Development services to evaluate and execute the vendor's strategic goals in Japan.  

Japan21 offers a preliminary process to examine the foreign vendor's market and technology opportunities in Japan, by organizing a comprehensive road show within Japan21 offices and at the partner's site. At the road show, the foreign technology vendor can present its product line-up to relevant Japanese potential clients, strategic partners and technology investors. 

In the event that the road show demonstrates some healthy leads from among the invited guests, Japan21 executives will work together with the vendor's top management to develop an overall strategy and implementation scheme that may lead to:

  • Subsidiary Operation agreement between Japan21 and the foreign vendor to mature the leads into a revenue-generating, fully operational subsidiary platform
  • Technology 'spin-off' to establish a 'Japanese-Foreign' start-up within the Japan21 incubation hosting environment to be backed by both Japanese venture capital and corporate technology funds 
  •  M&A deals between the foreign technology vendor and the Japanese strategic investors

The Business Development service includes:

  • Locate potential clients and strategic partners in Japan
  • Facilitate sales and distribution channels with competitive local system integrators
  • Secure a direct investment to the foreign vendor by Japanese technology funds
  • Build OEM relations with Japanese technology manufacturers
